Always best to check and then double check your copy, or you could get a friend who is quite good at using her 'virtual red marker' and ask her to do it for you! I used to see it in corporate use too, which would make me want to say "are you mad????" to the foolhardy person responsible. I'd also add - proofread! I know I'm especially picky (be nice, you don't need to agree to enthusiastically), but it bugs me when a business website has typos and other basic errors on it. I think we get so used to MS Word pointing out every little spelling error, that we get lazy, and forget to check things when using other applications. And I'll second the designer option - I've had many comments on the design of my business website, which was professionally designed. I’d also add – proofread! I know I’m especially picky (be nice, you don’t need to agree to enthusiastically), but it bugs me when a business website has typos and other basic errors on it.
